You can download pest patrol's program for free. They
will tell you how to manually remove it, for free. If you
want to use pest patrol's removal tools, you must buy the
program for $40.
tedious but often useful is "clean boot troubleshooting".
I would also suggest you get the CWS Shredder tool and run
it with
everything closed. Tom Coyote's site is down, so found
the mirror for Hijack This. And the spyware
forum one is up at the moment.

Go to:

Download "Hijack This!" [freeware]
Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change
into a "Save
Log" button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")
Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal"
section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your
new message.
Let them decipher it for you.
Scan your PC, at
www.pandasoftware.com [ on the left,
about 1/2 way down, look for "active scan". Panda often
classifies pests as viruses, that other AV programs do not
consider viruses.
