Warning when another program tries to send an email

I was using Word to do a merge to a large group of
contacts and I received a warning from Outlook that
another program was trying to send an email. I had to
click ok on each and every item to allow it to go
through. Where can I change these settings to allow Word
to access Outlook and send emails?
