Warning Outlook 2002

I recently used automatic update for my Office 2002, since
applying the update, I get a message everytime I compose a
new mail message or try to reply to a message that states,
"A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have
stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this? If this is
unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "NO"."
I have scanned my computer with the latest Norton
Antivirus Definitions twice, but have found no viruses. I
also have spyware protection running so I am certain this
is due to the Office 2002 update, since I have not
installed any new software since.

Thank you.

Do you have a spam program installed?
Anti-Spam programs will access the address list and cause the message.
(annoying since it won't let you choose "infinite", you get a 10 minute max)
If you have Postal Inspector, you will have to completely remove it and
reinstall including registry cleanup.
Contact GiantCompany for details.

I have Qurb spam blocker running, but have been using for
almost 6 months without having any problems. Do you know
if the updates cause a conflict? Otherwise does anyone
know how to uninstall Outlook 2002, I went to Add/Remove
programs and it is not listed. Do I need to completely
remove Office XP and reinstall?

Thanks for you help.

I have had similar problems with several users. Only the ones using the spam
software were affected after windows update.
Remove the anti spam software and reinstall. If it doesn't work after
reinstall, contact the vendor for registry cleanup before reinstallation.

Oulook is included in MS Office in many cases. I don't know why you would
remove and reinstall outlook, but start the uninstall for MS Office and it
will let you pick the components to uninstall.

It's a known issue with Office XP SP3; security has been updated to more
closely match the security in Outlook 2003. You may be able to get around
the problem by either disabling Word as your e-mail editor or updating some
of your add-ins, especially virus scanners and spam filters (many major
manufacturers have already released compatible updates). See the following
articles for more information:
