Saw the first popup add that uses this worm to scare people into
thinking they got it, and offering them a fix! F*cking SCUMBAGS!

Kurt,

Can you send me any information about the popup? Is it proporting to
resolve the issue, but instead its delivering the virus payload?

It happened at work. The user was browsing MSNBC at the time. It was a
full screen pages that can't be closed easily with a modified screen
print of the RPC error, and it did offer to fix the problem. I used
task manager to close it.

Would this be something new [a variant of blaster] that Norton AV
wouldn't catch? We got no virus warning, and all my work computers are
patched up to date, with the lastest AV signitures.

Kurt,

Thanks! I will take a look and forward it on to the Security Team here at
MS for review as well. My biggest worry is that the popups are proporting
to fix the issue when in fact they are a delivery method. Nasty little
twist if you ask me.

My computers at work all came up clean, so I think it's just some
unscrupulous vender preying on the fears of computer users generated by
this virus.
