Want to view saved word documents while in access

I have an access database of graduate students. Each record contains all
kinds of information regarding the student. I was asked if we could view
their dissertations while in access. So the dissertations come in word
documents and are printed out and saved to a folder on someone's hard drive.
Is there any way to pull up that folder while in access and pick a document
that we would like to open? I would love to go one step further and have the
record linked to the document so that when on a specific record, we would be
opening that specific word document.

Please go easy on me, I am not a programmer so I may be lost. I did however
write this database.

I would create a text field for the path to the Word document and then
*format* that text field as a hyperlink in my form. So when the
hyperlink is clicked, the document opens.
