Want to organize Favorites

Moe Jones

I am hopes someone can please tell me how to organize my Files and my web
pages by name in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 under Favorites.

I can use my file manager and organize my listings by name but when I open
up my Favorites in Internet Explorer I do not see where I can.

At present I have folders and web pages scattered through out my listing.

You can open favorites from the menu (not the toolbar button), right click
any favorite and select Sort by Name. This will have to be repeated for
each folder in Favorites.

Or if you want them to automatically alpha-sort even as new entries are
added, you need a registry edit. Navigate to:

HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Menu
Order\Favorites

and delete the value named 'Order'. Also delete this value for any
subfolders. Then, with the favorite key highlited, click on Edit >
Permissions and deny 'Full Access' to Administrators, yourself, etc. This
will prevent the key from being automatically recreated.

If I understand correctly what you want to do, right-click anywhere within
the listing and choose "Sort by name."
