Want to get rid of "Add new field" column in datasheet

Hi all,
We have just made the transfer to Access 2007.
Apart from the ribbon layout, which I believe only requires some time to
get used to, I have a question about the Tables.
When I create a new table in designview and then switch to the datasheet
view i have an extra last column (add new field). I find this very
disturbing. I don't want everybody adding fields at will.

I've checked the help files, but there's no indication on how to show
only the table fields I designed.

any help is greatly appreciated.

As much as I hate it, there's no way to get rid of it. But, it's not
that big of an issue because of this simple reason: Nobody, but the
developer, should ever be monkeying with those objects. The only thing
they should be using would be forms and reports. You should at least
hide those objects and show only forms (assuming your users are not the
malicious kind, this should be sufficient -- otherwise you may want to
look into distributing a MDE/ACCDE) to avoid the users going to where
they shouldn't be, and tables most especially is not one of those objects.

Just base the datasheet on a query, and that column will not show...

As a general rule, your users will never see those tables directly if this
is some type of application anyway..

There's an option on the Current Database tab of the Access Options
dialog -- "Allow design changes for tables in Datasheet view (for this
database)". Uncheck it, then close and reopen the database.

Been on the road for a week.
