want to change a category for a contact

Can't figure out how I did deleted categories for a specific contact before.
Thanks.
 
open the Contact (fully open it) and the Categories button is on the bottom
in 2000, 2002 and 2003. You forgot to mention your version :(

Come back if you have 2007.
