Hello
I and my friend want to set up network for file sharing and
gaming. So we both are planning to buy a lan card. I dont't know
much about network cards.
can anyone give me some good advice or point me to some web site
which describes network cards.

Not sure about a website, but www.cdw.com will have tons of network
adapters - I'd shy away from 3Coms as I've had problems w/them - Intel ones
are nice, but I've also used cheap lil Netgears and they've been fine too.
If you have a hub/switch that is capable of 100Mbps, make sure you get
10/100 capable cards, and do not use autosensing on them - when you install
them & load the drivers, go into the network properties of the card itself
and change the speed/duplex setting to a fixed setting - 100/half duplex for
most home-style hubs & switches will be good.
