waiting for ole action

i have some made some pivot tables in excel, but starting
in access. in excel, i have a macro that updates each
pivot table in the spreadsheet. at some points during the
macro (especially if the pivot table takes awhile to
refresh), i get a message that states "microsoft excel is
waiting for another application to complete an ole
action." and then it prompts me for an "ok". after i
click the "ok" the pivot table refreshes accordingly. the
reason i put the refreshes in a macro is so the user could
walk away while the macro ran, but instead the user has to
wait for these breaks in the macro and select "ok" several
different times. any ideas what the other ole action is
that i may turn off or ????
