W2K Won't shut down

I installed a new DVD writer and now my w2k pro only
restarts when I select shutdown. Does anyone have ane
solution w/o unistalling the DVD WR software???

Well, first of all, uninistall dvd stuff and see if the

OS returns to normal. If so, then there is a problem
with the DVD software. Go to the DVD drive's
manufacturer's website and see if there is a more current
version of the drivers, etc. for your drive and operating
system. You'll probably find that the stuff that shipped
with the drive is not current.
