W2K SP4 Hangs at "Inspecting Configuration"

Hi All,

I've attempted the install of SP4 on a W2k server SP2. The download is OK,
the EULA comes up OK, the install wizard then hangs on the inspecting
configuration page. I've tried downloading the SP4 and installing from the
HD, same results (none). No event log errors either. Logged in as
administrator. I haven't seen the same thing posted yet. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi Fabio

I did see that KB Article. Unfortunatly I do not get any error messages at
all. The install hangs at that one point and just stops. I can cancel the
installation but I find no errors in the event logs, nothing. I have tried
installing Critical updates and security patches one at a time, but they
take an extreme amount of time to install.

I'm thinking my only option is an in place re-install.
