w2k sp4 doesn't multiboot with xp sp1

First I've installed w2k and upgraded to sp4. And I've
installed xp (not sp1 integrated), it works multiboot.
But when I upgraded this xp to sp1, it failed
multibooting! Boot to xp sp1 successed, but to w2k sp4
doesn't works.
It shows me a error message "Windows 2000 Could Not Start
Because the Following File Is Missing or Corrupt:
\Winnt\System32\Config\System" in pre-boot screen(text
mode).
I try to change ntdlr and ntdetect.com from xp sp1 to xp
original, It works successfully. I can multiboot to w2k
and xp now, but it is not a normal xp sp1 files..

Is it a system-specific problem? or how can I fix this
annoying problem?

Thats the system hive for the 2k machine, I dont know that SP1 caused this.
If you have an ERD made, copy the system file from it into the
winnt\system32\config directory. If not, rename the system hive there and
copy the system hive from the winnt\repair directory and it should boot.

Yes, I know, that's the registry storage for w2k.
But the odd thing is, I've fixed this problem with
origianl xp (not sp1) ntldr and ntdetect.com file.
with that older version of ntdlr and ntdetect.com, system
boots to both OS successfully.
Yes, that's not a broken system hive file in w2k.

What's wrong?
