I am using the built-in disk management(volume manager lite) of windows 2000
server to create the striped volumes on apple xserve raid storage.
So what I did was this:
Server 1: (3 total xserve raids)
Has 1 stripe volume that spans 3 of the xserve raid devices (6 total luns)
Total storage 10.6TB
Server 2: (2 total xserve raids)
Has 2 total stripe volumes. Each striped volume is just a combination of the
2 luns for that particular xserve raid Each volume is about 2.68TB
The problem I have is when I reboot Server 1 it doesn't automatically mount
the volume. I have to go into disk management and re-activate the disks When
I reboot Server 2, it automatically mounts its volumes no problem.
All the storage is connected to the servers in exactly the same way. Via the
fibre channel switch we are using (MDS 9506). Any ideas?
