I have a Windows 2000 server with AD Installed single NIC. The Routing and
remote access server shows up with a red X and does not allow me to click
properties to configure it. I confirmed that the service is running. and
have rebooted the system. This is the first time since the system was
installed that a need for RRAS has come up so i cant tell you if its been
that way since the orginal installation. I am alos havin the same problem
with the Wins Server. I'm at a loss of what to try next to resolve the
problem.

if right-click on the server name, do you have option to Configure and
Enable Routing and Remote Access? if not, any errors in event viewer?

I solved the problem using information contained in this article

Error Message "Cannot Find the WINS Server" Occurs When Accessing the WINS
Database

Revision : 1.0

After posting this question I decided to try to resolve the WINS issue,
correcting that corrected the RRAS problems. Thanks for your time responding
to my question.
