W2k pro re-infected after patch

After applying the Windows 2000 patch for the msblaster
virus, machines are still being attacked so the
vulnerability does not seem to be fixed after patching and
cleaning the system. Has anyone else noticed this.

FYI, he virus was cleaned off as well.
 
Perhaps the patch didn't actually apply? Look for it by the KB name in
Add/Remove programs. Also make sure there's a good firewall protecting your
whole network (don't rely only on a NAT box). Also use good, regularly
updated AV software...run full scans.
