W2K Printing Pref's (2nd Paper Tray) Missing in Programs

Hi everyone,

Here we have a Windows 2000 SBS domain network and there's 1 printer on the
network which recently had added to it an additional paper tray.

It's a Samsung ML-2151N (22 ppm B&W Laser).

In the drivers properties you go to a page "Printer" and there's a pull down
menu under an option "Optional Tray" where you set it to "<None>" or "Tray
2".

Having installed the 2nd Tray you set it to Tray 2. Then you can go back to
the General tab, into Printing Preferences and from here it brings up
Samsung's personalised drivers pages (Layout, Paper, Graphics, Extras).

If you go to Paper, there are fields "Source" and "First Page" where you can
choose between None, Tray 1, Tray 2, Manual Feed, or Multi Purpose Tray.

If you didn't tick Tray 2 under the "Printer" page described earlier, Tray 2
option will not be available here.

-------

In some programs including Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, when you
print via File -> Print you can then go into the Printers Preferences and go
into this Paper section and choose between Tray 1, Tray 2 etc.

In other applications however including all Microsoft Office applications,
if we do the same thing, File -> Print and go into Preferences, Tray 2 is
not an option, it's missing.

Why I don't know, it's got me stumped!!

-------

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver with no luck, however I've just
discovered that if I install the printer, and it's name is:-

"Samsung ML-2150 Series (Copy 2) "

Instead of "Samsung ML-2150 Series", I have this Tray 2 option everywhere
when I select that printer and go into it's preferences, even in MS Office
Applications.

For some reason they're just not appearing under certain applications when
the drivers name is "Samsung ML-2150 Series" but they will appear when it's
called "Samsung ML-2150 Series (Copy 2)".

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Too bizarre for me!!

Cheers.
