W2K pagefile spontaneously downsized

Hi specialists,

Here's a strange one.
A couple of month's (approx. 3) ago we installed a system
with W2K-server and Citrix Metaframe 1.8 for W2K. We
cloned that system using mirror-disks, sysprep and the
W2K minisetup and created so 11 systems, exactly the same.
Last week I discovered that one of the systems had a
pagefile sized only 20MB (the systems all have 2GB
memory).
Since I couldn't explain why that had happened I checked
all the other (10) systems and found that they all had a
pagefile with the minimum size set to 2252MB, maximum was
4092MB. After this I corrected the settings of the first
system and rebooted.
Over night all the systems were scheduled to reboot and
on monday serious problems occured.
After checking the systems I found that the pagefiles on
all the other systems "spontaneously" had changed to 20MB
also.
There were no entries of any action in the eventlogs and
knowbody claims to have changed anything.
Of course people want an explanation, but I can't give
them one.
Does anyone of you all have an idea what could have
caused the pagefiles to downsize ?
It would make me very happy.

Henri.

Hi Henri -

This sound a lot like what happens if you reset the permissions on the root
of the drive so that Everyone no longer has full control. The Everyone
group includes the System account, and if it no longer has full control and
cannot create a pagefile on the C: drive, it will create a temporary 20 MB
pagefile.

Were there permissions changed on the root of C: before these reboots?

Thanks.
