Hi
I have been having the same problem for months now (since
an overseas DELL assistant blindly told me to reboot in
safe mode and had me do some keystrokes--thats when it
started--long shutdown time--it says "saving your
settings...", then in about a minute it flpis off and a
normal "Windows is shutting down" screen appears--and then
it shuts down. I looked in that event viewer thing and it
said: < Event ID 1000 ((2195)) Windows cannot unload your
registry file. If you have roaming prifile...contact your
Administrator.>(I have W2K pro) Well it was no help to me!-
-and looking all over, could find NO help!! It's Sunday
and I've been home looking around(again)and saw this
reference to site:

www.citrix4ge.de/ctxsffaq/index.htm#prof
It is happening on my work (at work) computer so tomorrow
I'm going to try this UPHCLEAN thing from a Robin Caron.
Looks promising--let me know how your's go and if you
access any more info--good luck.
