When trying to boot up I get a blue System 32 error screen. I want to format my hard drive and reinstall W2K, how do I do this

I've read dozens of posts regarding this problem but none seem to apply to my machine eg,

I have tried installing from CD but, the option doesn't come up either in the Bios or when booting

I am totally confused and accept that this is possibly the millionth someone has asked this

Thanks for your time

What option "doesn't come up in the BIOS?" Boot from CD first? You don't have that in the BIOS?

Thats right, I do not have the option to boot from CD rom - unless it is well hidden within the Bios.

Presently I am trying to source appropriate Boot Discs to boot from floppy. I have got the files from Bootdisk.com but when the files are unzipped, they are larger than the capacity of a floppy ?? Not sure what is going on there.

Hopefully, will get appropriate boot discs fom the W2K cd as indicated by the Microsoft help.

Thanks

So you can boot from the floppy but not from the CD-ROM? Can you find in the BIOS where boot from the floppy first is done? Then maybe boot from CD-ROM is in the same area?

The solution

There is no option to boot from cd on my Bios however, I disabled all the other devices leaving the cd as the only one enabled

It worked

Thanks for your time

Well that's the weirdest thing. Tell me the make of that machine so I know to stay away from it. Thanks.
