W2K Denied Access to XP machine

Mr. Smith

Hi All,

I have an XP Pro Laptop and a W2K Desktop machine. I can
access shared drives on W2K from XP and use a printer
connected to the W2K box but when I try and access shared
drives on XP from W2K I am asked for 'Connect as' name and
password. No combination of 'Connect as'and password I
enter works for me.

How do I set up my XP drives to allow W2K to access them
or see what the 'Connect as' name and password is required
or set the 'Connect as' name and password for the XP
shared drives?

This is driving me nuts!!!!!!!

Regs,

You need to create the same user account logon name/password on the XP machine
that you use to log onto the W2K machine [control panel/user accounts]. Alternately
you could enable the guest account on the XP machine, which will work but will allow
anyone access to the XP machine which is not considered secure. --- Steve
