W2K boot

When I switch on my PC gives message "Reboot and select
proper boot device or insert boot media ...." however if
I reboot immediately by CTRL+ALT+Del it starts up fine.
Any way to fix this?

Check your BIOS for any setting that might delay POST, for instance an
extensive memory test. Probably, your hard disk isn't fully initialized
when POST tries to pass over to it.
