I just bought a new LG LCD 19" monitor and I am having Boot up
problems. I contacted LG Electronics and they say that the issue I am
having is not related to the Monitor.

Problem:

W XP won't do continuous boot-up unless I manually press F1 key.
I want to eliminate this nuissance step. How do I do that ?

Here is the Boot up sequence that occured after
installing LG Monitor. First screen to appear is the Dell
screen....8250 Series etc etc. Then it moves to a black DOS looking
screen ( this is the part that is new) with message in white letters
where it stays forever until I hit the F1 key then it resumes normal
boot up. Info on DOS looking screen is this: Has copyright info and
ID's Phoenix ROM Plus version. Then it IDs Dell and the series number
of the computer 8250 Then it says: Primary Hard Disc Drive 1 not
found. Strike the F1 key
to continue F2 to run the Set Up utility When I strike F1 boot up
resumesand proceeds normally. How do I eliminate this need to strike
the F1key every time I boot-up?

Press F2 to correct the setting that is causing this behavior. Some
of the proprietary computers are very confining when it comes to
upgrading.

I have done that and that takes me into the Set Up Utility.......BUT
what do I do once I am in there that will fix the issue???

There are too many variables, (video chip/RAM etc) to give a
concise answer.
Malke says<

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).
