Vuescan and FS200

I have just installed Vuescan 8.1 to run my Epson FS200 on a new PC. I
was succesfully using an older (I cant remember which) version of
vuescan without any problems.
However when I start vuescan and press preview I get the following
error message.
Raw scan file file not found. Check input|files.

I have checked the input files and it pushes me to a file explorer
window and looks for any image file to open.

I have checked all the inputs and they are correct (right scanner
etc).

Any help or pointers gratfully recived

Did you run the older version on the new PC before installing the new
version? In that case, did you rename the old folder before installing
the new one? In any case try deleting the "vuescan.ini", then try
again, The ini file will be recreated (with defaults for the new
version) and give you a known state to depart from in analysing what
may cause your issues.

Also recheck if the cables are properly connected (unplug/replug).

SNIP
Raw scan file file not found. Check input|files.

This indicates that your scanner is not recognized/switched on.
VueScan usually assumes you want to use the scanner that you have
connected. It will default to trying and read from disk if a scanner
is not detected.

Maybe you need to disable a utility from the taskbar that "listens" if
a scanner is present. That may/will prevent VueScan from claiming its
rights for access.

Thanks for the reply's.
On the version this was a new install on a brand new HDD so the old
version wont be a factor.

On the scanner being on, yes its on and the add hardware wizard kicked
off, you can see it in devices (although it's not recognised).
As a thought do I need a TWAIN driver or does vuescan have the driver
built in?

No, you don't need a TWAIN driver to use VueScan with the FilmScan 200.

What you need to install is ASPI. I have a link to where Adaptec
keeps this, in the Windows section of the VueScan Release Notes.
