VSTO & redistribution

I'm a newb when it comes to development. I've been playing around with a db
that I've donated to a friend. He has shown it to others and they are
offering to buy it. Before I do anything of this nature I need to figure out
how best to proceed.

If I purchase Visual Studio Tools for Office 2005, does that make it legal
for me to sell them a copy of this? Because there are multiple people making
the offer, not all of which have copies of Access, I think this is the way to
go, is that correct?

Yes, VSTO include the Access Developer Extensions, which allow you to
package your application together with a royalty-free run-time version of
Access that users who don't already have Access installed will be able to
install so that they can use your application.

Thanks Doug. One more question: with the release of Office 07, I'm assuming
that VSTO will likely be releasing a new version somewhere in the near
future. Does anyone know when that will hit the market? If it's going to be
soon, I'm assuming I'd be better off waiting for it than purchasing now, any
thoughts/suggestions?

Yes, there will be an update to VSTO to handle Access 2007.

Whether or not you want to hold off purchasing VSTO depends on whether
you're going to switch to Access 2007 when it's released, or if you're going
to wait for awhile. Many people wait for a while when a new version of
software is first released, and Access 2007 is significantly different than
previous versions.
