VPN?

I used a VPN connection without problem through XP on my old laptop. On my new
one it fails connections saying no dial tone available. I can't see where my
properties would indicate an attempt to dial up but the VPN software is trying
to use a modem. i am connected remotely through DSL not through dial-up. any
ideas?

Nike:

Create a new connectoid:
Dbl click on Make New Connection in My Network Places: Properties
Opens a wizard.
Select Connect to the network at my workplace
Click on Next
Select VPN connection (rather than dialup connection; should solve your
problem)
Continue through the wizard
