After setting up a vpn connection to a Windows 2003 server
to utilize remote file storage I have discovered this.
Once our vpn connection is established and we have remote
directory access users cannot locally access the internet.

Is there a security reason for this? Is it a routing issue?

Any ideas?

You should try to uncheck 'use default gateway on remote
network'. Maybe this wil solve your problems.
