VPN with round robin and load balancing? please help

Dave

I have 2 VPN servers each with a pub and priv NIC, we
configured the first W2K VPN server successfully but
server 2 experiences the following, when RRAS is started
all traffic on the Pub nic stops, you cant ping or TS
into it. But when you disable RRAS you can Term Serv and
ping the pub nic. The bindings are correct. We have pub
and priv A records in DNS as well as a "server name" that
points to both pub ip's - trying to round robin. Both
have SP4 and the latest updates. The loss of connectivity
on the pub nic when RRAS is started is baffelling. Please
help. Ps. we have done the wizard and manual set ups.

Hi Dave,

When configuring VPN with the wizard filters are automatically created that
only allow VPN traffic. Check the filters. For more info see:

If the RRAS server is setup with IP filters that only pass though vpn
traffic, does that mean you dont need to be behind a firewall? Are the IP
filters sufficient to keep the vpn server and rest of the network are safe
from the internet?

Thanks,
Scott.
