VPN with Netgear.

Hi, I am trying to set up a VPN to my home when I am away
with the Laptop. I can configure it correctly from within
my LAN, (using IP address or host name of my VPN server)
but I cant seem to get it to work through the Wan port of
the Netgear MR814 Router I am using. (wired to server) I
have the Port Forwarding configured correctly for PPTP to
the Server's Ip Address. How do I choose the ip address or
host name to connect to my VPN server through the router
when I am away and connected to the internet? When I try
using the Router's Wan IP address I get a connection
error. Should i use something else.
