Greetings,

I can connect 2 pcs remotely using VPNs under XP Pro SP2. Say puterA and
puterB. PuterA can ping the IP adress of puterB but not the other way
around. Both are part of the same "workgroup" but the browsing feature
doesn't work. I can't see the Netbios puterB on puterA and the otherway
around.

Since its under XP stand-alone computer (no DC) how can I get those 2
computers to "see" each other ? LMHOST doesn't seem to be the solution. Any
help would be appreciated. I haven't found any "howto VPN" under XP since
almost all info is related to VPN in a domain env.

TIA

Did you check the firewall settings for the VPN and for the LAN
connection on both computers?

Are they really in the same workgroup?

for the vpn connection, go into the tcp/ip properties page, and make sure
the "use default gateway on remote network" is checked.

this basically tells the system to ferry all traffic thru the vpn tunnel,
and then to go out to the internet using the gateway at the other end.
