Have finally successfully networked my office computer to home via VPN. So,
here I sit at home trying to figure out where to find my office computer. I
mean, I look in MY NETWORK PLACES thinking I will see an icon for my office
hard drive or atleast the "shared" folders, but nothing is there.

Then, I figure, well maybe it's going to show up in a MY COMPUTER window as
a new hard drive to open, but all I have are the usual home computer hard
drives.

I feel really dense, like it should be there right in front of me, but,
um..I'm connected to the office and yet there seems to be no way to access
anything or atleast it is not readily apparent.

I have searched help and this forum fruitlessly.

Help anyone

I'm guessing here: Open Explorer > Tools > Map Network Drive. Is that
applicable here?

Deb,

who administers your office computer and its network? If that's
not yourself, you may have to ask that person. If it is you,
then we have to delve in a little deeper and it would help to
know more about the office network, if that exists.

Browsing across a VPN connection can be a real PITA.
Does your office network use WINS? That may help.
Do you really need to browse, though? If you have something that can handle
the name resolution for the computers you need access to, you can just map
drives, explore them with \\computer\share, etc....even an LMHOSTS file will
let you do that.
