VPN Sign on keeps popping up

Hi,
I connect to the Internet via a router (not wireless) on a cable
modem. I have, occasionally, the need to connect to my place of work
using a VPN connection, which works fine. The problem I have is the
VPN sign in box keeps appearing when I try and browse the Internet,
even though I am connected, using cable, and not VPN. If I close the
VPN sign in box, then all is well, unless I close my browser and re-
open it, I then get the same problem. The only way to stop this is to
delete the VPN connector, and make a new one each time I need to use
VPN, which fortunately is only a couple of times a year at the moment.
However, this is about to change and I do not want the VPN box popping
up when I do not need it. Is there a "tick box" or something I am
missing?
Thanks,
John.

I had the same problem. The fix may be just as simple as opening up Internet
Properties in the Control Panel. Choose Connections and then click the Never
Dial a Connection option. Hope this works.
