VPN on windows 2003 server

Sara

Hi everyone.

I setup a LAN at home with a XP pro, Linksys Wirelesee G router and
Windows Standard 2K3 server.
My questions are listed below.

1. I setup my linksys router 10.1.1.1 (act as a firewall.)

2. My windows 2k3 server is 10.1.1.201,
SM, 255.255.255.0
GW 10.1.1.1

3. My laptop XP pro with IP 10.1.1.51
SM 255.255.255.0
GW 10.1.1.1
DNS 10.1.1.201

It seems runs everything fine.

Windows 2k3 has a AD and called www.abc.com, and it is a DHCP and DNS server
as well. GC is in there, because of only one server at this forest now.

I can browse a LAN and internet perfectly. However, when I setup a VPN
setting as RAS.
I follow all detail from Mircosoft page, it ask for DHCP relay agent. I also
configure that, but when It restart the VPN service, then my server cant'
connect to my laptop and even the router. IS that routing issue ???

If i do the same, it works pecfectly for windows 2000 server, but not in
this windows 2003 server. DO i miss something here??

What si the error you get when you are trying to connect to the VPN

As soon as the RAS service start, My server cant' connect to anywhere such
as my router, and the Client. The whole 10.1.1.X network cant' work. The
client cant' ping the server, vice versa. OS for the client is XP pro.

Sounds as though you used the wrong option in the wizard and have
configured packet filters. In the RRAS console check your LAN NIC for packet
filters. (In some cases the wizard will configure packet filters to block
all traffic except VPN).
