VPN Connection Error: 781

I am running Windows 2000 professional and trying to get
the virtual private connection to work. I read your
response to making a VPN connection through a router, and
allowed TCP port 1723 and the IP protocol 47 (GRE). After
making those changes I receive a different error message
following the "verifying user name and password." "Error
781: The encryption attempt failed because no valid
certificate was found." I have not changed any of the
default settings in the virtual private connection. Do you
know what my problem is? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi Aaron,

Try changing the clients VPN connection type from Automatic to PPTP. What
kind of router are you using?
