VPN Connection dropping after 3 minutes

Two Windows 2000 clients are connecting to our network Terminal Server via a VPN connection operating over an 'always on' link to our ISP. However the VPN connection is dropping out every 3 minutes precisely. It then reconnects automatically. I have check the options set for the connection and they are set to never disconnect. Interestingly you can browse the internet continually, only the VPN drops out. Has anyone come across this problem before? If so I would very much appreciate you help. Thank you.

Is the VPn link dropping out, or just the terminal
services session within the VPN connection?

If you are having problems with the entire VPN link, then
the problem is most likely with the VPN link itself,
rather than with terminal services.
