VPN Connected but I can't See the host

I have a simple setup to a remote computer via VPN over the net when I click
on the connection it says it is connected, I can ping the host it works
great. But I can't see the remote computer when I explore or check network
connections. What didn't I do? For what its worth I am running a small
network on this end behind a linksys router and I am able to do remote
desktop sessions on this computer no problem. Also if it makes any
difference I am an administrator on the remote as well as my computer. I
assumed this remote computer would come up just like my other computers in my
network, am I wrong? Got a feeling its a shareing issue but can't put my
finger on it. Any Suggestions would be appeciated.
