VPN Client - NO PPP in IPCONFIG

Strange problem. Sometimes when I connect VPN, I get the VPN connectoid in
the system tray but I do not get an IP address from the server and I can not
ping anything though I get netbios. The only immediate resolution is to
reboot the server and client machines.

I can go days without this happeneing, then when it starts happening it will
last for days.

Windows2000 SP4 with latest critical updates.

What protocols are you running on the server and on the client? Can you ping
the server?
