VPN and DNS?

Hi there,

We have a problem using DNS and VPN: whenever we connect to our VPN server,
DNS lookups are still using the DNS server from the primary network
connection. Using ipconfig we can see that we're getting the correct
internal DNS servers from the VPN/ppp connection, but doing lookups shows
that the external connections DNS server is used instead of the one provided
by the VPN connection configuration.

How do we use the internal VPN DNS for lookups when we're connected using
VPN?

Brian,
Try this idea, it worked for me in the past.
Open the VPN connection properties
Click the "Netoworking" tab and select TCP/IP then click "Properties"
Click "Advanced"
Make sure that "Use Default Gateway on Remote Netowork" is not selected

Whenever I set up a VPN, that box is always checked by default and causes
errors.
