VPN and Browsing the net

I have a VPN connection back to my office so Outlook updates all the time.
When I just want to simple browse the internet it seems that the traffic goes
back to my office and then back to me again. If I am not on the VPN my
browsing speed is much quicker. Any ideas?

If your using the XP PPTP VPN client you can disable that on your PC.
Uncheck the "Use default gateway on remote network" checkbox. See this link
for help with that...

Otherwise it could be a server side configurable that is enabled for
security purposes. It depends on what type of VPN your using. See the split
tunneling security issues section in that link...
