Volume Control

When I try to play an audio or video file, the volume is really quiet. I've tried adjusting the volume control settings, but I can't seem to save the changes, and it gets quiet again when the song changes. Can anyone help me
 
Thanks, but it didn't work. The WAVE control still keeps going all the way down at the beginning of each new song.
 
It is very likely a soundcard problem. Suggest you check the website of the manufacturer for updates of new drivers.
