VOLUME CONTROL WINDOW

Now I'm desparate... I have no audio because an input has
defaulted to low or off.

The Volume Control "expanded view" window WILL NOT APPEAR.
I can get the single volume-only control slide bar to
appear, but double clicking the volume control icon or
any other expanded view alternative does not open the
control panel. The button in the task bar appears -
every time - and one for each attempt to open the
expanded volume control - but never the actual window.
And... there is no "Maximize" option when you right-click
on the task bar button

Please... how can I resurrect the volume control window???

I'm not sure I understand. If you run sndvol32.exe, you get only the
'master' volume slider? This would be normal if the other sliders are
turned off.

You wish to see the other sliders? If this is the case, you should be able
to get to Options, Properties and check off the other sliders you need to
appear. And for me, the Maximize button is greyed out and the control
can't be resized, only minimized.

Please read prev post carefully...
Icons are not the problem.
The master volume slider is NOT the problem.
When you double click the volume control icon or run
sndvol32.exe... NO window appears. An "open window"
button appears in the Task Bar, clicking on it does not
max-or-min-imize any window. There is no window!!!
I need to get to the multiple input and output audio
controls in WinXP.

Where/How? Something has corrupted the audio control
panel and it is unable to APPEAR.

Thank you! Please help!
