Hello to all. I have 2 laptops running XP Pro, one a Toshiba SatPro 6000
and the other a Dell I 5150, and a desktop D4500 running XP I recently
installed SP2 and I am having a similar problem with all of them. The
volume control icon is vanishing intermittently on all 3. I have gone to
the taskbar properties and selected "Always show" in the "advanced" control
tab, but it doesn't seem to help.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I tried searching the MS knowledge base,
but nothing comes up that is relevant.
Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance and regards to all

Why did the volume control icon disappear from my taskbar
notification area in Windows XP?

Kelly,
THANKS! Sorry it took me so long to get back here, but work has been crazy.
Anyway, your reg file worked fine. I was wondering, the battery and power
icons also are gone. I checked your page and found "Restore Power
Schemes/Configurations"; I have no problem setting them, it's just the
battery icon or AC plug icon won't show.

Thanks again for the volume fix,
Morey
