VOB vs MPEG-2 Files For DVD

The current recommendation on this and other newsgroups is to use
MPEG-2 for burning a DVD video. Any DVD video that you buy is in VOB
format. VOB can play in any home DVD player. Can the MPEG-2 format
also play in any home DVD player? Even one 6-years old or older?

It depends on your DVD player. Most programs such as Pinnacle save your
movie as VOB anyway, although what you see is MPEG-2. Hope this helps.
