Not sure what you mean. Are you trying to run VNC Viewer from your XP
machine to control a machine running VNC? If so, since it's just an
executable file, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Please write back with a lot more detail if this doesn't answer your
question.

UltraVNC works with just about any system: XP Pro, XP Home, NT etc

Don't forget to forward the correct ports thro your firewall, and use the
authentication and encryption options over internet.
