vlookup

i was sent a spread sheet that is missing inform in certain columns,
have the info in another spreadsheet. Can I use vlookup for this,
using my spreadsheet for the data?? If not how can I get this dat
over without data entry?

You don't say if the missing info is in the same position or order a
your other file with it, you also don't mention if the data you do hav
in the 1st file is the same in the other file.

There are a number of ways to get the data across, the first being
simple copy and paste.

If the data is likely to change in either file you may want to set up
link from the original to the other file. This really needs the 2 file
to be set out in the same order to be of use.

You could also set up a formula in a dummy column which would only ge
data from your other file if the cell on the original is empty.

Without an example the responses here will be very generic. If you ca
expand on the problem I am sure you will get more responses.
