Visual Studio & Compact Framework

All,

I recently downloaded and installed the Pocketpc 2003 SDK. When I start
Visual Studio and select New|Project, SmartDevice is not one of the project
options for VB or C#. What am I doing wrong? I have VB, C#, and C++
options installed for VS.

Thanks,
Randal Ferguson

Josh,
You need visual studio .net 2003, not an older version of visual studio or
standalone visual c# or visual vb.
Or for C++/MFC development
Visual Tools 3.0 can be downloaded fromt he ms website.

Thanks for the info. I have an earlier version of vs so I'll have to
upgrade.

I was under the impression that the PocketPC 2003 SDK would only work with
Visual Studio and not the stand-alone versions of C# and VB. Am I wrong?

You are correct, it is for Studio Pro or better only. If you have Studio
02, the upgrade is $29.
