Visual Studio 2005. Web Application Projects ? The project type isnot supported by this installation

I just re-installed Visual Studio 2005, after attempting to address
this issue by installing VS 2005 Dev team sp1 and the Web application
project add-on with no luck.

After a reinstall - I reset my environment to Web development.

I can't find the Web Application project type when I do File > new >
project .. anywhere.. where is it.

Also, If I attempt to open an existing Web Application, I get error:

The project is not supported by this installation.

I know I can create a new Web Site, Just not a new Web Application
Project.


I've checked these out:

Are Web application Projects pre or post VS 2005?

Try installing VS2005 SP1.

If you have full version of Visual Studio, you will be able to see it at
File->New->Web Site

I have Visual Studio 2005. Iam NOT able to open existing (downloaded from
internet) web application.

Already I have applied the following patches:
1. VS80-KB915364-X86-ENU
2. WebApplicationProjectSetup

It was working fine. Yesterday Again I downloaded some samples. The same
problem occurs.

Then I installed the Visual Studio 2005 service pack
VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU after uninstalling the above 2 patches.

In above scenario please help to resolve the issue.

"Web Site" and "Web Application" are two different project types. He is
having trouble with the "Web Application" project type. I had this problem
when I first installed Visual Studio. Unfortunately I don't remember the
solution because it was a long time ago.

Ah, I remember now. Installing "Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite SP1" will fix it.
