Visual C++ Runtime Library

I receive a message that C\Windows\System32\WBEM\WMIADAP.EXE has caused
runtime to terminate in an unusual way. What the heck is this all about ? Is
it serious ? What do I have to do to stop the message appearing ? Is there a
problem with the software - new laptop from Dell running Windows XP Home
Edition. Nothing - so far seems to indicate any other issues with the laptop.

The RAM is okay and I haven't added any 3rd party stuff anytime right before
this started happening. It only happens when I right click on a file from a
CD. I can right click if the file is on the hard drive, floppy or zip
drive, just not on CD.

There also isn't Red X for an error in the event viewer. I turned off
things in the manage addons and it still happens.

Debbie, what burning software/CD player maker you are using?.
Also what Windows Media Version installed on this Machine?.
Did you looked in the Device Manager to see the CD/DVD-ROM is functioning or
there is a conflict in the IRQ, also try to update the driver from the
manufacturer website.

When I get the error I'm not using a burning software, I just put a CD in,
say XP and go to right click the i386 to copy it to my other drive and then
that's when I get the error. No errors in the device manager either.

I just used the XP cd as an example. I was trying to copy a mp3 from a CD
to my cell phone, but when I would right click I would get the Visual C++
error. I could right click from the hard drive, floppy and zip drive just
not fromthe CD ROM

That is true if it happen only with this particular CD?, but it could be
because Debbie having Windows Media player 11 and CD/DVD player are not
compatible!.

Debbie, please let us know the CD/DVD maker and what version of Windows
Media Player you have installed on your system.
Also try to remove the CD/DVD-ROM from the Device manager and Reboot your
machine, windows will detect the Device and offer to install it for you or
you can select from Disk if you have the software for your CD/DVD ROM.

I'll try that but it was working not to long ago. It's the same Cd ROM that
I have in there for a couple of years. Even my second CD ROM won't let me
right click. It's not only mp3 it's any file that I might want to right
click on. It's also any Cd not just one particular one

I did do the SFC and I just did the other thing and I got this, LoadLibrary
failed, the specified module could not be found..........could that be my
problem?

The only thing I can offer is this:
Open a run command and type in:
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\rsabase.dll
Also this: sfc /scannow click [OK] and after finishing Reboot.

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
