Visual C++ Runtime Error - wmiprvse.exe

We just bought a bunch of new PCs running XP SP2. About twice a day, each of
them displays the following error message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Does anybody have any ideas? Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

If I had "just bought a bunch of new PCs " and "each of them displays the
[same] error message", I would suspect an error in the disk cloning process
at the factory and would contact the manufacturer for warranty service.
