Visual C++ Runtime Library error

Since using Internet Explorer on my new DELL Inpsiron, I
no longer get 'page unavailable' or 'time-out' page
errors. Instead I get a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
Library" error pop-up which closes down my IE
application. Does anyone out there know how to fix this?

Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++, Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.
